Power Vinyasa classes are taught in a 90 degree heated room and are based on the Baron Baptiste vinyasa system. In a Vinyasa class we link postures together using the breath creating a flow which is meditative and invigorating. These classes are challenging and transformative and are open to all levels of practitioners. There is a strong emphasis on alignment and ujayi breathing. Be prepared to sweat like you never have before!
Forrest Style classes are based on Ana Forrest's philosophy of Hatha Yoga and is also taught in a 90 degree heated room. The heat allows muscles to soften and also increases the cardiovascular effects of the postures. Pranayama (breath work) is done in the beginning along with intense core work allowing the student to ease gracefully into the vinyasa portion of the class. Inverted postures are explored and asanas are held for longer periods of time.
Basic Forrest yoga is a slow paced yet dynamic class taught in the heat with a focus on working your core, breath awareness and taking the time to feel each pose. While building strength and flexibility, physical and emotional stresses will be addressed in a nurturing environment. The only requirement is a willingness to focus on breath and the present moment.
Basic classes are taught in a 78 degree heated room and move at a slower pace in a spiritually uplifting environment. Students are encouraged to focus on ujayi breathing, udiyana bhanda (engaging the core) and staying in the present moment.
Community classes are taught by teachers that are learning how to teach Baptiste or Forrest style yoga. If our staff teaches the class, they might call out the postures as they do their own intuitive flow. This class will also be taught in a 90 degree heated room.
